Two incredibly exciting things have happened 1-I got to hold him for the first time yesterday. YAY for that. Took look enough.
2-Riley puked everywhere in the NICU. For those of you not familiar with the NICU, it's the most sanitary, germaphobic place on earth. You scrub in before you even walk through the double doors. Then, you walk into the baby's room and they tell you to douse your arms and hands with sanitizer again.
Anyway, Riley has had a bit of a runny nose and we spent five minutes convincing the nurse it was okay to let him in. No, he hadn't been coughing. No, he wasn't going to be touching the baby. Yes, his snot had been clear, and no, of course, he hadn't been running a fever or anything like that.
Well, we walk into the room and the first thing he does is start coughing. Then, his mega gag reflex kicks in and he spews half-digested ravioli all over the room. The poor nurse had a look of pure horror on her face. "He can't be in here, he can't be in here," she kept saying over and over again. We cleaned him up and rushed him out as quickly as humanely possible. The next day, they left a love note for us on our sign-in sheet. "Riley CAN NOT visit again until he is symptom free for three days. There can not by any vomiting in the NICU."
Poor Riley. He would be the one kid in hospital history who gags and throws up in the most sterile environment on earth. Hopefully they've forgiven us for that by now.

Poor Riley! I hope he gets better or says healthy for the next three days so he can see his brother again!! We Love you so much.
So, I know it was probably embarrassing for you and all that, but I loved it. Pretty much rocks my world.
Can't wait to meet Asher. Can I call him Smasher? Or Basher? Crasher?
Congrats on the new little one, guys! He is so cute. I'm so sorry it has been so rough. Good thing you finally got to hold him - poor Riley, though!
Thanks for the photos and update, he's adorable! So sad about Riley, but I totally understand the freaking out part. It's so scary to have a baby in the NICU and worry that they'll get sick.
Hopefully you'll be able to bring Asher home soon and he'll do wonderfully.
Oh, he is so tiny, and so cute!
Poor Riley can't even hang out with his brother. I'm sure it was a horrifying experience, but I'm guessing that is going to be one that you laugh at for years to come.
I am praying for you guys that little Asher can come home real soon! Thanks for the update.
Oh Lacey, my heart goes out to you. I am in tears from reading your previous post. I am glad that you've made it home from the hospital and we'll be praying for little Asher. What a wonderful addition to your family! He is absolutely beautiful. God bless you all. Poor little Riley! But stuff like that happens sometimes. And remember, it's a hospital for goodness sake! They are used to the unexpected. :) And seriously do not blame yourself for Asher's early arrival. Life has a way of going the way God would have it. And you will all be that much stronger from going through this experience together. He is ever mindful of each of us and I'm sure the angels are at little Asher's side. Our prayers are with you.
Asher is so cute! Sorry about Riley, though I did get a little laugh out of it. I just pictured the nurse freaking out. Hopefully you can come home soon so you don't have to deal with that anymore!
Lace, Asher is adorable! Glad to see a picture. Having been in the NICU at primary children's, I can almost visualize the reaction the nurses would give. It does make a good story and someday both Riley and Asher will laugh about it. We are praying for you and hope that Asher will be home soon. Bet Riley is excited to get him home too (especially now that he can't visit for a while).
Haha..I can only imagine..but like everyone has said, it will be a good story to laugh at a few years from now! =) It is good to hear that everything is going well! We are still praying for you guys and we love you! Asher is so cuuuute!!!
Not Taelyn. A friend and her daughter back in February. We can discuss it once Asher is home.
Congrats on your new little guy Lacey! You are a mother of two now! Wow! I'm sorry things haven't been smooth sailing lately. You have many people thinking and praying for your little family - including us!
Our prayers have been with you and little Asher everyday. We're also hoping that Asher will come home as soon as possible. He is such a cute little guy! And I hope Riley is recovered by now, too. What a story about him in the NICU! We love you and will continue to keep you in our prayers.
that stinks for Riley. Congrats on your new addition (love his name) and I do hope he can come home soon. I hope you're feeling ok also. You're in my prayers
