Newsflash

Drumroll please.

After my ultrasound today, the doctor notified Sam and I that McMurry baby numero dos is going to be a....................

BOY! (probably).

The doctor was 95 percent sure and I guess he would know what he's talking about since he's been looking at ultrasound machines since 1980. His office machine was on the fritz though and none of the pics he took looked much like a baby to me.

I still remain ever so slightly unconvinced about the baby's gender, mostly because I don't want to swallow my pride and admit my so-called mother's intuition was not so intuitive after all.

I'm having a second ultrasound in a week or two on one of the hospital's heavy duty machines, so I guess they can finish convincing me then.

(that was me)

Wow a boy! I'm with you about being unsure. Until I really see that its a boy, I don't believe it. Hey one positive thing is you don't have to go out and buy more clothes. That is why Keith is hoping ours is a boy.

Fig, I will never again doubt your skillz. And mattie, I've actually thought of that---it will be a big relief to not have to buy any new clothes or anything.

I guessed it would be a boy!

congrats?!?! :) Yes, congrats. It will be fun to have a new baby either way... right?

My mother's intuition obviously isn't so good either! It will be fun to have boys together...more best friends and many more days at the park and McDonalds to come! =)

No, I am totally excited. I just have to get used to it first.

Congrats! My intuition wasn't right with my 2nd either. I didn't even try to render a guess with #3 b/c I didn't want to be wrong again.

I'm going to call you next week - maybe we can plan a play date to meet at the McDonalds on 21st street or something. We've got to get together before my summer officially becomes crazy (both girls having surgery in the next month and then my own c-section, oh yeah and that thing called moving!).

Congrats! I'm so glad to hear the news! If the baby IS indeed a boy, then Riley will have a playmate. Let's just hope Riley doesn't make Baby an apprentice to all his mischief-making. Then you ARE in trouble! I'll be waiting for the confirmation in a couple of weeks...

So have you guys thought of any names? Keep us updated on the next ultrasound.

Yeah! I probably would have said the same if it were a girl but I have really liked having the same gender next to each other. It'll be nice for Riley. I often find myself thinking "I can't wait until Paige can play with Leah" I really need to just slow down and enjoy my baby.
